HostaAmour was started in the Fall of 2005, when I realized how popular this perennial was becoming, and the demand for the rare and unusual. Hard to find cultivars could only be found by chance at local nurseries or by internet sales. Either way the "chance" of actually getting what the label stated or even a healthy plant was just that a "chance". Here at HostaAmour we guarantee that our plants are what the label reads and that they are happy and healthy plants.
Our gardens are open every weekend, 10:00-4:00, from May through October. Evenings by appointment only. You can walk through at your leisure and see all the cultivars at their maturity, all are labeled for easy identification. Additional information is also available such as: Hybridizer, flower color and sun tolerance. We have a potted plant area where you can chose your own or chose one field growing and have it dug upon request.
Coming in the Spring of 2008 a new shade house, parallel to our current greenhouse. We have found that not all hosta like to be grown in pots and will do much better if allowed to field grow for their first season. The shade house will be lined with raised growing beds and will hold up to 400 plants. Here too you will be able to chose which one you like and have it dug upon request.
